Ithaa means pearl in Dhivehi.
It was designed in New Zealand and was supposed to be built on the beaches of Rangali.
But due to limited resources, technical difficulties and quality control issues, the decision was then made to have the structure constructed in Singapore and then transport it back to Maldives.
It is the world's first underwater restaurant, mostly made from acrylic and secured five metres below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island in Rangalifinolhu, Maldives.
The five-by-nine meter restaurant has a capacity of 14 people and offers a 270° panoramic view.
Meals range in cost from US$120.00 (lunch for hotel guests on Full Board meal plan) to US$150.00 (dinner for hotel guests on Bed & Breakfast meal plan).
You can also spend the night at Ithaa at a rate of a whooping US$11,710 per night!
If you do, Ithaa will be closed for the evening for you to stay overnight and I would love to hear your experience!
